Author Guidelines & Manuscript Submissions
The Journal of Projective Psychology and Mental Health invites clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, counselors, and behavioral scientists to submit original manuscripts advancing projective assessment, personality evaluation, diagnostic formulation, and mental health interventions.
1. Accepted Manuscript Categories
Original Empirical Articles
Quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research investigating projective methods, psychometrics, clinical validity, or therapeutic assessment outcomes.
Theoretical & Systematic Reviews
In-depth syntheses of literature on psychodynamic concepts, projective methodology evolution, personality pathology, and diagnostic paradigms.
Clinical Case Studies
Detailed single-case or case-series formulations illustrating diagnostic profiles, therapeutic assessment protocols, or complex differential diagnoses.
Methodological Papers
Innovations in test administration, computerized scoring systems, cross-cultural adaptations, and normative reference standardization.
Short Communications
Concise reports on preliminary or pilot empirical findings, novel scoring insights, or time-sensitive clinical observations.
Book Reviews & Letters
Critical appraisals of newly published books in assessment and psychiatry, conference summaries, and letters to the editor.
2. Manuscript Preparation & Formatting
- File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) exclusively. PDF and paper submissions are not accepted.
- Style Manual: Strictly follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA 7th Edition).
- Typography: 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced throughout (including title page, abstract, block quotes, tables, and references).
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all four sides.
- Blinded Title Page (Separate File): Title of paper, author full names, academic affiliations, ORCID IDs, corresponding author mailing address, email, and phone number.
- Main Blinded Document: Must omit all identifying author names or institutional affiliations to ensure double-blind review. Organized as:
- Title
- Abstract (150–250 words)
- Keywords (4 to 6 representative keywords)
- Introduction & Theoretical Background
- Methods (Participants, Measures, Administration, Data Analysis)
- Results
- Discussion & Clinical Implications
- References (Strict APA 7th format with active DOIs)
- Tables & Figures (Numbered sequentially with descriptive captions)
3. Double-Blind Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo an initial editorial triage to assess scope, originality, and adherence to APA 7th standards. Qualifying manuscripts are forwarded to at least two independent expert peer reviewers under a strict double-blind system (author and reviewer identities are masked from each other).
4. Publication Ethics & Integrity Mandates
Research involving human participants must adhere to institutional ethics approval (IRB/Ethics Committee) and the Declaration of Helsinki. Proof of clearance must be stated in the Methods section.
All identifying details (names, dates, exact locations) must be thoroughly masked, altered, or omitted to safeguard client confidentiality.
The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism, redundant publication, or fabricated data. All submissions are screened prior to peer review.
Upon formal acceptance, the copyright of the published manuscript is assigned to the Somatic Inkblot Society, preserving rights for scholarly citation and indexing.
